Sky Hill Mansion

Located in the romantic city of Zhuhai, Sky Hill Mansion is an exploration of JTL Studio’s vision of resort-style living within an urban context. Nestled between mountains and city, this project balances serene natural beauty with the vibrancy of modern life. By weaving landscapes and architecture into an immersive narrative, the design creates a tranquil yet dynamic community where residents can find respite and inspiration.

In the Embrace of Nature
Bordered by mountains to the west, Sky Hill Mansion draws the natural scenery into its community, transforming the site into a serene valley. Community activities are centred around the swimming pool and clubhouse, with spaces transitioning seamlessly from mountain slopes to forest streams. The height differences within the site are carefully leveraged to create a rhythmic flow of landscapes, offering residents moments of connection with the natural surroundings.
Upon entering, residents are guided through a landscaped ceremonial gateway that bridges the transition from the bustling city to the calm of the community. Elevated pathways and underforest leisure spaces encourage residents to pause and unwind amidst layers of greenery. Within the community, tall palms and dense foliage create a natural buffer, framing views of the sky and softening the angular edges of the architecture.

A Vacation in Everyday Moments
The swimming pool, a hallmark of resort living, serves as the community’s focal point. Elevated by 90cm for a sense of privacy, the pool features peacock-blue mosaic tiles that shimmer under the southern sun. Surrounded by lush tropical plants, the pool becomes a sanctuary, blending functional design with aesthetic appeal.
The landscape employs clean, minimalist lines that balance visual order with functional needs. Pergolas, shaded pathways, and leisure areas are seamlessly integrated, offering spaces for rest, reflection, and recreation. From poolside gatherings to quiet corners for introspection, the design fosters an environment where daily life feels like a vacation.

Nature-Inspired Living
Sky Hill Mansion embraces the concept of "stay-cation" by integrating natural elements into every aspect of the community. Children’s play areas, inspired by wild dunes and earthy tones, stimulate creativity and provide a tactile connection to the environment. Adjacent sensory gardens and forest trails invite exploration, blending learning and leisure into the landscape.
The community’s design captures the essence of southern breezes passing through forests, evoking a sense of calm and vitality. With minimalist promenades and spaces designed for both movement and stillness, the project celebrates the healing power of nature while fostering connections between residents and their surroundings.
