Nestled in the heart of Hangzhou’s Olympic Sports Center district, the Hangzhou Amber Center Experience Area reimagines the relationship between modern living and natural landscapes. By drawing inspiration from Hangzhou’s iconic mountains, rivers, and ecological richness, JTL Studio sought to create a harmonious space where modern vibrancy and natural tranquillity coexist, offering residents a refined and immersive lifestyle rooted in the unique character of the city.
Modern Elegance with a Natural Soul
The design blends the bold, structured modern interface on the project’s eastern edge with the serene qualities of nature, seamlessly integrating Hangzhou’s untamed beauty into its surroundings. The entrance, envisioned as part of a luxurious hotel-style residence, features a minimalist inner courtyard framed by a solitary pine and understated hardscaping, maximizing spatial exclusivity and focusing attention inward.
Pocket gardens and riverside seating areas enhance the site’s layered spatial experience, allowing residents to engage intimately with nature. Newly planted vegetation blends seamlessly with existing flora, fostering a sense of ecological harmony. The riverside park preserves its raw, natural charm, immersing visitors in a tranquil environment through lightweight, low-intervention design techniques that blur the boundaries between human-made and natural elements.
Elevating Everyday Living
With its semi-open lounge spaces and expansive 7-meter-high ceilings, the Amber Center introduces a sense of vertical grandeur, connecting indoor and outdoor environments seamlessly. Adjacent riverside zones include multifunctional spaces like garden lounges and waterfront areas, offering opportunities for social gatherings and personal reflection. The subtle, minimalist integration of pathways and paving ensures accessibility while maintaining a natural aesthetic, enhancing the site’s cohesive flow.

袖珍花园与河畔休息区强化了场地的分层空间体验，居民可以在这些区域与大自然亲密接触。新种植的绿植与现有生态巧妙融合，营造出生态平衡的自然美感。河滨公园通过轻量化和低干预的设计语言保留了其原始魅力，模糊了人造与自然之间的界限，让游客沉浸在宁静舒适的自然环境中。
